The Fourth- 132 4th Avenue, NY

The Fourth is a restaurant inside of a hotel. When walking into the dining room, I noticed some elaborate chandeliers, lush red tablecloths, and some nice chairs. We were seated at a large table in the back, very comfortable and surrounded by pretty decorations.  My uncle and my aunt ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Canadian Bacon Benedict, which were both only okay. The eggs were a bit too buttery and the saltiness smothered the rest of the dish. The salmon was yummy though, tender and nicely seasoned with rosemary.  My dad had the Pink Salt Brick Roasted Amish Country Chicken (or as I like to call it, PSBRACC!!!). The chicken was mediocre- it was juicy enough, but not enough lemon vinaigrette. "It tasted like chicken," my dad said. However, the main focus of this review is to describe the BELTs that my mom and I both ordered. At first, we asked the waiter what kind of bread it was, and he said sour dough. I thought to myself "Good, that's how a BELT should be." When it arrived, it was giant slabs of brioche bread, with a huge egg yolk in the middle and the rest of the ingredients inside. I must say, beautiful presentation. But, after taking a few bites into the sandwich, it completely fell apart, even after cutting it up into quarters. While the ingredients inside were yummy (the bacon especially chewy and smoky) the sandwich itself was impossible to handle. We complained afterwards to the manager and all he said was "well some people are good at eating it, and some aren't." Loser. The before and after pictures are below, if you're curious. Overall, I give The Fourth lots of crumbs. Till next time!
