Nobu- 105 Hudson Street, New York
I've been wanting to go to Nobu for a long time and I finally got the chance. My parents told me they have the best sushi and japanese food, so I was literally jumping out of my pants. I walked through layers of curtains and saw a giant space, with bamboo trees holding up the ceiling, a giant sushi bar, and a wall made entirely of stacked river stones. There were so many delicious dishes on the menu and I couldn't wait to try some new food. As an appetizer, we ordered the Yellowtail sashimi, Jalapenos, with yuzu soy sauce. You picked up the sashimi and put a piece of cilantro on the yellowtail. The yellowtail melted in your mouth and the jalapenos gave a huge kick. My mouth was burning the whole time. We also ordered the shrimp tempura. It was crispy and tender, and the dipping sauce was not too salty. Then we had a lot of sushi. My mom and dad's favorite roll is the soft shell crab- comes with a cucumber casing. My salmon sushi was extremely tender, but the red snapper was a little chewy. The fluke sushi was also delicious. The food here overall was very fresh, but I wasn't so impressed with the snapper. The restaurant itself was beautiful though, with unique decorations. I definitely want to come back to try some new stuff. Overall, I give Nobu 4 pineapples. Till next time- tdg
