Vine Street-- 41 South Ferry Road, Shelter Island
Vine Street Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants around Shelter Island and the Hamptons. You can eat pasta, fish, meat, and tons of other foods. The place is always packed, so make sure to get a reservation. The restaurant had nice wood tables, sconces made out of twigs, and very cozy. It was like a nice farmhouse. I ordered the Perciatelli Bolognese, which was excellent. The perciatelli was chewy and the tomato sauce was complicated. It wasn't too garlicky and had lots of flavorful herbs. The ragu of specialty meats also made the dish more tasty. My mom and dad both ordered the Grilled Miso Glazed Salmon, which was possibly the most tender salmon they have ever tasted in their life! It was cooked perfectly! You barely had to touch it to cut it! The dish was supposed to come with bok choy, but they were nice enough to substitute it for broccoli rabe, which had a nice bitter and garlic flavor. The coconut rice was fluffy, with a hint of coconut. The only drawback of the meal was our table in the back, which was dreary compared to the lively front. Overall, I give Vine Street Cafe 4 1/2 pineapples. We'll be back for a better table next time! See ya! -tdg :P
