Kimchi Taco Truck--55th street between 6th and 7th avenue AND Endless Summer 21st street and 6th avenue

Taco trucks in NYC are the most popular food trucks-- this includes Mexican styles, Indian, and Korean.  There are also some mixes of different cultures, including Kimchi Taco Truck, arguably one of the most popular food trucks in Manhattan.  Korean mexican tacos started in LA with the Kogi truck, and has really influenced this style in New York today.  This delicious mix of Korean and Mexican food opened 3 years ago and became so big that they even opened a restaurant in Brooklyn called Kimchi grill.  This truck is usually located around Midtown.

When I arrived, they were 10 minutes away from opening, so I got a good early interview.  The lady who runs the truck has a very cool vibe, and gave me a free short rib kimchi taco, which I ate in au bon pan across the street.  Absolutely amazing, with a perfect blend of spice and sweetness.  The white sauce also perfectly complimented the taco, cooling it down just the right amount.  The scallions were a little overpowering, but had a great crunch.  I liked that they used flower tortillas, so the taco wouldn't fall apart.

I will most definitely come back here for a full meal! I give this delicious taco truck 4 1/2 pineapples-- maybe if they put a little more kimchi or cabbage in the taco, it might accentuate the Korean style better.

Endless Summer is another great example of a popular taco truck in manhattan, but serve traditional mexican tacos.  Still, they do not fail to impress everyone with their extreme level of spice and their fresh meat.  And it smells so great when you're standing next to it!  They're also blasting great music while you're waiting around; Macklemore just sounds great.

The lady serving the food though wasn't the nicest-- she didn't want to answer all my questions, and she seemed really, really bored.  I'm not surprised, as they didn't have any customers at the time I interviewed them.  The taco was great though-- spicy pulled pork, like seriously spicy but just too stringy.  The cilantro and onions added a yummy bit of a zing.

I might not come back here though... I only give Endless Summer 3 1/2 pineapples.  Maybe this truck is in a slump because of the endless winter.  I'll come back maybe when it heats up!
(If it does)

Till next time everyone!
