Babu Ji is a fairly new Indian restaurant, serving hot curries, fresh naan, exotic snacks, and even has a drink refrigerator in the back where you get up and select your own drink! We sat down at an early time, around 615-- barely anyone was there. But in a few minutes, it started to crowd up. Before you knew it, there were people waiting in line to get seated! We started with an Indian favorite, Tandoori chicken. It was very spicy, and came with a delicious green curry sauce that brightened the flavor of the chicken, which was very tender in itself. Unlike normal Tandoori chicken piled up, it was elegantly laid out in small pieces on a long white platter. For our first main course, we ordered a bowl of steaming hot onion naan. Nicely charred and fluffy. Our first curry was a lamb off the bone-- very spicy, but a bit salty. However, the cumin and lemon basmati rice on the side made married well with the other entrees. We also had a pomegranate and fig concoction, which was very sweet, but balanced well with the other spicy meals perfectly. The sauce was nutty from the cashew, and my mom couldn't get enough of it- so much that she ordered another naan just to scoop up the rest. All in all, a very solid, authentic meal. 4 pineapples. Till next time!
