Dumpling Guo is a brand new Chinese restaurant that specializes in hot pots. The tables are cleverly equipped with 4 electric grills which are flat on the table, and almost look like placemats. If you want to touch them, do it before things start cooking. To start, we ordered the pork & scallion potstickers. The meat was cooked to perfection and the dough was nice and chewy. When eating hot pots, you choose between various kinds of broths, meats, and veggies, and then cook them slowly while the broth is boiling. We ordered the bone-broth with paper-thin ribeye, carrots and bok choy. The restaurant had a large bar to the side full of several different dipping sauces (soy sauce, peanut sauce, etc.), pickled veggies and fruits, and typical asian toppings (chiles, scallions, cilantro.) We took everything we could fit on the table and started cooking up the hot pot. When we were finished with the meat and veggies (which were delicious), we spooned up the remaining broth and drank it from little bowls. The entire meal was hearty, warm, and very interactive. Next time I would prefer my own hot pot so I can customize it in the way I like. Overall, I give Dumpling Guo 4 1/2 pineapples. Till next time!
