Chevy's Diner- Hyatt Ziva Resort, Cancun, Mexico
Chevy's Diner is a wonderfully decorated, retro-themed diner, with a vintahe turquoise Chevy convertible parked in the middle. There's an even a table inside the car, which is simply awesome. The restaurant tries to interpret the classic 'american' diner as best as they can, and, visually, they mostly pull it off. Except for the food. I ordered the cheeseburger with cole slaw, and my mom ordered the pork ribs. The burger wasn't necessarily bad, but it felt processed. The cole slaw was pretty much white liquid with carrots. However, the fries were acceptable. The true, horrendous dish however, were the pork ribs. They arrived cold, soggy, and with a strange light-grey color. My mom didn't even have to touch it to know it would be god-awful. Overall, I give chevy's 2 1/2 pineapples. A cool design and atmosphere, but the food was low-quality.
