Hojoko- Verb Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts

Located inside a fresh, hip new hotel, Hojoko is an Asian bar/restaurant with some very unique and interesting dishes. We started by ordering the shrimp and pork potstickers, which were really tiny dumplings. Really tiny, but packed with savory flavors, and turned sweet when dipped in the teriyaki/soy mix sauce. Arriving next was a full table of rolls, including a spicy tuna roll topped with shredded tempura and chili flakes. First actual "spicy" tuna roll that I've had in a while, and the tempura flakes offered a welcome crunch to the slightly mushy sushi. For my entree, I had the Hojoko rice bowl, which consisted of a thin sheet of stick rice, grilled wagyu beef, and a whole lot of vegetables. I treated it as a mini bibimbap, and it was just as delicious, bursting with spice, zest, and garlic. My dad ordered the torched sashimi bowl, but it unfortunately arrived 20 minutes late. Thankfully, it was delicious. Overall, I give Hojoko 3 1/2 pineapples. Till next time!
