Lupa restaurant- 170 Thompson Street
Lupa is an Italian restaurant. I have been there many times, but this time it wasn't as good as expected. We ordered the octopus appetizer. It came with lemon aioli sauce all over- which didn't look very good. So we asked them for the fried cauliflower side instead. They gave us the cauliflower and the octopus without the sauce. There were like 5 little pieces of octopus in the whole dish and the rest was chickpeas. They should've called it chickpea mania. The cauliflower was just delicious. It had little crisps of capers that were salty and tasty. Then I ordered the Bucatini All' Amatriciana. It was a delicious, spicy pasta with great onions and bacon- but there was barely any bacon. I had to hunt for them. My mom ordered the Tuesday night special which was supposed to be Duck in a Confit style. It wasn't and she sent it back only to order the Bucatini. Not a very satisfying meal after all. Maybe it was a bad night, but I won't be back so soon. Overall, I give it 2 pineapples. Sorry Mario!! -tdg
