Minetta Tavern Restaurant - 113 MacDougal St. New York
When I entered this restaurant, the hostess, Nellie, greeted us and said that she remembered me from a few months ago. Great memory! In 5 minutes she sat us at a great table. The atmosphere was cozy but exciting. There were many pictures on the walls from the old Minetta Tavern which made the place very historic. There was even a photo of an old little league baseball team. We ordered the Dry Aged Cote De Boeuf. It's what the place is known for. The steak was a little too fatty, but it was tender. They didn't serve steak sauce which I usually like, but the dripping made a delicious sauce to dip in. It also came with giant marrow bones. It was roasted. The guys next to us told my dad to order some toast and jam to have it with. I'd never had it before, but I thought it was amazing. The marrow was meltingly salty, and the jam made a little sweetness. The toast gave it a crunch. I recommend it to anyone, even kids my age. As a side, I ordered the carrots. They were sweet and buttery. We also ordered the Punch Pommes-- small potatoes crushed and roasted. By them selves, they weren't that good, but with a splash of tabasco, it made it nice and spicy. I would have rather had the french fries, which I had the time before. They were delicious and salty. It was a great meal and a fun time. Overall, I give it 4 pineapples. -tdg
