IL Buco - 47 Bond street, New York, NY

Il Buco is an Italian restaurant - that I heard has very good food.  When we got in the restaurant, I thought it was a little too cramped in, but the old farmhouse furniture and decorations made the place look beautiful.  I couldn't wait to try the food.  I was there with my mom and dad.  My mom ordered the Ricotta della Casa which had figs and hazelnut.  It was good, but the toast was burnt.  Not cool.  Then my dad ordered the Venison Carpaccio.  It came with pomegranate seeds.  The meat was too stringy and a little gamey.  We all shared the Cavalonero which was raw kale salad with lemon vinaigrette.  I thought the kale had too much cheese on it.  The dressing was too acidic.  I didn't like it at all.  But my mom and dad thought it was pretty good.  I ordered the Salcissia, a delicious lamb sausage with carrots, apple slices and mint.  The sausage was stupendous.  It was very tender.  The slaw went really well with it.  Dad's entree was the Risotto with chanterelles, thyme, and parmesan.  The rice was too hard, not creamy the way it should be.  Mom's Gambas, which are king prawns, was impossible to eat with a fork and knife.  Il Buco is a pretty fancy restaurant, and the waiter said you should just use your hands.  I was very unimpressed with everything except the sausage.  I am not going back there and I don't recommend it.  Overall, I give it 2 pineapples.  Better luck next time Il Buco.  See ya - tdg
