YamaQ - 2393 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton
This is probably my favorite sushi restaurant of all time. I've been going this spectacular sushi place my whole life. I went with my mom this time. The restaurant is small, but has wood walls and japanese art throughout the space. There is a blackboard of fresh salads and specials daily. You can get many types of yummy appetizers - including hijiki, wakame, and pork/vegetable dumplings. They have an amazing green tea with the flavor of toasted rice and a bowl of spicy japanese crackers - both are free. My mom always takes the bowl away from me because I eat too much of it. The hijiki salad is sweet and salty, and the wakame has a nice crunch from the cucumbers. The steamed pork dumplings were fantastic - they were hot and meaty and came with a thick dipping sauce. For my entree, I ordered 3 salmon sushi and 3 yellowtail sushi. The salmon is always the best and the yellowtail melts in your mouth. My mom ordered the shrimp tempura roll, which I always have a piece of. The shrimp was nice and crispy, and the avocado was creamy. At lunch they have amazing fresh fish wraps with a fruit salsa. I was very happy with my meal and the whole staff is very friendly. The great thing is, the food there is always top of the class. Definitely deserves 5 pineapples. Till next time- tdg P.S. I'll be going back pretty soon!
