Nick and Toni's-136 North Main St, East Hampton
We had just come from seeing the movie War Horse. I was starving. My mom, dad, and I got a seat at Nick and Toni's, a famous restaurant in the Hamptons. As an appetizer, my mom ordered the seared peconic bay scallops. She said they were extremely sweet and tender. For my entree, I ordered the house made orecchiette with berkshire pork sausage and broccoli rabe. I shared with my mom. The fresh orecchiette was delicious- very chewy. The sausage was tender and had a perfect balance of sweet and salt. But the broccoli rabe was a little too bitter. My dad ordered the spice rubbed hanger steak with local fingerling potatoes, broccoli rabe, and oyster butter. The hanger steak was delicious. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes were awesome. The inside was warm and soft and the outside had a nice bite. A perfect roasted potato. The broccoli rabe was bitter again. My mom and dad shared a side of spinach. It was nice and hot, but not overcooked. It was a satisfying meal. We were too full to have dessert. Can't wait to go back and have some more of that orecchiette! Overall, I give Nick and Toni's 4 1/2 pineapples. (If it wasn't for that broccoli rabe, I would have given Nick and Toni's 5 pineapples). See ya- tdg
