Forcella- 334 Bowery New York, NY

Forcella is a restaurant that just recently opened.  I couldn't wait to try out their special fried pizza.  The restaurant was very spacey and I caught a glimpse of a large brick oven.  My mom and I sat in the back.  As an appetizer, we both ordered the giant meatball.  We were going to share one, but the waitress said they were small, so we ordered one each.  Turns out they were humongous.  The meat was delicious, with a cheesy flavor.  There were pine nuts in the meatball and the tomato sauce.  I thought that was a nice little touch.  Loved the tiny basil on top of the meatball.  Then we shared the Montanara, which is one of the special fried pizzas.  The waitress told us the dish was for one person and that we should order two, but she was already wrong about the meatball.  The pizza dough was very chewy and the rest of the pizza was just lukewarm.  You would expect a FRIED pizza to be HOT!  There was also a tiny piece of basil!  Yippee!  We waited forever for the check to come.  It was like the waitress had forgotten us.  The service was horrible, the pizza was okay, but the meatball was awesome.  This restaurant definitely didn't get off to a good start.  When I come back, I'm trying the regular pizza.  Overall, I give Forcella 3 pineapples.  Till next time... maybe... tdg
