Kokolvna-- Prague, Czech Republic
Our first night in Prague. A beautiful, medieval city. And a lot of meat. It took us a while to find a good restaurant, but we finally decided to go to Kokolvna. The place is a pub, bustling with people. I decided to start with a delicious pear juice, which was like drinking out of a pear. There were so many juices on the menu that I decided I would have a new juice every day at different restaurants. My main course was a cheese burger with iceberg lettuce and onions served with a side of fries. The burger was extremely juicy and tender. My mom had the pork knuckle and my dad had the lamb hock. We had never seen hocks that large. It was more interesting than delicious. Both the meats were pretty tender, but a lot of work to separate the fat and bones from the good meat. All the meats came with spicy yellow mustard and spiciER horseradish. The pickled veggies that came with the entrees were a little salty, sour and sweet. When I went to wash my hands, I discovered a whole downstairs section that was also packed and had huge barrels of wine and beer stacked up on the walls. Cheers! Overall, I give Kokolvna 4 pineapples. Till next time! -tdg
