'T Kederli-- Brussels, Belgum

This is the oldest restaurant I've ever been to.  It opened in 1698, and it sure looks it!  It was a cellar and still had its original vaulted ceilings.  It is situated in the main town square.  Since it was so packed, we had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table.  We sat down in a booth and I immediately spotted the Shrimp Scampi in garlic sauce.  The shrimp was just way too salty for me and I didn't like the garlic sauce at all.  The shrimp was very chewy and not tender the way it was supposed to be.  Very disappointing.  Mom and dad shared the moules frites in a beer broth.  They were very plump and hot, but the broth needed more seasoning.  The frites were the same as always, hot and crispy, as expected.  My mom and I had originally ordered two cokes, but the first set was not fizzy at all, and the second set wasn't cold.  And cokes in Belgum taste like Pepsi!! Noooooo!!!  OverAll, I give 'T Kelderli 2 1/2 pineapples. Next up, I will travel to Prague!! See you soon!!!- tdg
