CittaNuova-- Easthampton, NY

I am at one of my good friends' birthday party, and we are eating a delicious dinner at the Italian restaurant CittaNuova.  There is a large bar, several booths, and a cozy balcony.  The seven of us sit down at a booth and order 7 cokes, which come quickly.  The service overall is very efficient.  My friend Marco and I order the Linguine with baby clams, pancetta, and hot pepper.  The linguine is el dente and the baby clams are tender and garlicky.  The entire dish has a nice kick to it, so I am careful to add very little crushed red pepper.  My friend Nick orders a caesar salad and a cheeseburger with fries.  The caesar salad average, the burger a bit thin, and the fries are not hot enough.  Pretty disappointing.  Three girls order the Polpette with thick spaghetti and meatballs in tomato sauce.  Meatballs tender, good flavor in tomato sauce, etc.  The birthday girl, Nina, orders the Maltagliati with wild boar ragu and aromatic vegetables.  The wild boar ragu is a bit tough, but has a delicious flavor to it and the vegetables are nice and fresh.  This dinner was overall good... I give CittaNuova 3 1/2 pineapples.  Till next time. -tdg

P.S.  I'll be in the city soon so expect a bunch of reviews!
