Madison and Main is the new hip spot in the Hamptons. Finally, a new restaurant! The restaurant was already PACKED when we got there, so good thing we made a reservation. We sat down at a cozy table, but only after squirming our way through the maze of people. FYI, this is the second time we went, I wanted to get a good idea of the restaurant. My moms' appetizer was the charred octopus. It was very tender, with a nice garlicky flavor. My dad started with the mussels in a white wine broth, which was absolutely delicious. The crispy garlic bread tasted amazing in the hot soup. For my entree, I had the Angus burger with smoked bacon and caramelized onions. Everything about it was delicious-- the only downfall was that it was too hard to eat-- couldn't fit it in my mouth! I got a side of mashed potatoes, which was decent. Then my mom had the short ribs with barley risotto. The short ribs were very flavorful, and the risotto had a nice bite to it. My dad had the swordfish special with mashed potatoes in a delicious spicy broth. The whole dish was only okay, because the swordfish was too dry. And, the broth wasn't spicy!!!
Overall, I give Madison and Main 3 1/2 pineapples. Still waiting for a 5 star restaurant. But, the place has a great vibe to it, so I strongly suggest it if you want a good night out.
