El Toro Blanco-- 257 Avenue of the Americas, NY

I have been dying to come here-- I'm only in the city for a couple of days, and I need my Mexican!!!
We sat down at a cozy booth and took a look at the menu, which had everything I wanted.  My mom and dad started off with some margaritas-- the chile rubbed mango for my mom and the el toro for my dad.  I was told they were delicious, especially my mom's, which had a sweet but spicy flavor to it.  As our appetizer, we ordered the snapper ceviche, which was mixed with tomato, jalapeƱo, cilantro, lime and avocado.  The snapper was extremely tender, and it had a great mix of sweet, salt and spice.  Yum!  For my entree, I ordered crispy beef tacos and the 'al pastor' pork tacos.  The pork was sick-- perfectly tender with a little bit of crust, delicious soft corn tortilla, sweet pineapple, etc.  Perfection.  I also put on an extremely hot spicy sauce -- the el toro blanco habanero sauce.  OMG.  My mouth was on fire!!!!  But, I put that sauce on every taco, because, you know me, I can't resist that.  The crispy beefs were also awesome-- it may have been ground beef and a hard shell, which I'm not usually a fan of, but they made me love it.  It was piled with cotija and crunchy iceberg lettuce, and was basically heaven in a chip.  My mom had the carnitas michocan, which was crispy confit of berkshire pork with pinto beans, chile salsa, sliced cabbage, and warm tortillas.  I didn't end up trying, but my mom said it was very good.  My dad ordered the octopus tacos, which was very tender, not chewy.  Overall, I'm going to have to give El toro blanco 5 PINEAPPLES!
The perfect mexican dinner!
