After an exhausting game of mini golf-- (I tied for the win), my friend, uncle and my mom stopped at Gringo's Burrito Grill. The delicious, spicy aromas lured us in. It was a little shack with an upstairs eating area and an outside patio. Too hot for the outdoors. We didn't end up ordering burritos, but burrito bowls. We all had beef bowls, and got to choose our own crunchy, spicy, sweet and cheesy toppings. The only problem was that they gave us such a small amount of beef! Only a small handful! I had more lettuce in the bowl! Everyone's bowl was still delicious, though. Perfect mix of flavors. There were so many toppings that it really filled us up. I really enjoyed the beans-- very sweet. My bowl included the following: beef, dirty rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato salsa, cilantro, onions, peppers, and mild green sauce. The beef was grilled medium and thinly sliced. Dirty rice is rice seasoned with a lot of spices, so it would taste good on its own. The salsa tasted just made and the tomatoes very ripe. The onions and peppers were grilled, which you usually don't find in a burrito bowl. And the green sauce was tomatillo but with added spice. Good amount of acid to balance all the flavors. Everyone else's was very similar. They also had grape flavored high-c. You can never find that flavor anywhere anymore! So refreshing. Definitely the restaurant to come to for lunch, if you ever stop by Montauk. Overall, I give Gringo's Burrito Grill 3 1/2 pineapples. I know, a lot of mexican lately! I'll never have my fill!
