Many people know ABC as a spectacular furniture/home decoration store, but they also have a great restaurant, just next to it. I caught a glimpse of the kitchen-- lot's of good chefs in there, and there were a variety of aromas filling up my nose. We got a bowl of delicious bread with cold butter. The bread was so good I didn't even wait for the butter to melt!
We started with the crab toast, and tried to get it without the lemon aioli. They didn't listen the first time, so we had to wait an EXTRA 1 minute. I know! But, it was delicious. The crab was perfectly dressed and tender, and the bread gave a really nice crunch. Pretty messy, though. Then we all shared as an entree the Kasha and Bowtie Pasta with veal meatballs. My mom loved the tender meatballs, the depth of flavor in the reduction and the crunch of the kasha; I wasn't very impressed. It was just too sweet, and the rich gravy overwhelmed me. Didn't enjoy it at all. But we also all shared the Red Snapper with potatoes and sauteed spinach. Snapper was perfectly seared with a subtle lemon broth, the spinach was out of this world garlicky and buttery and fresh, and the baby potatoes were simply boiled. What I really enjoyed about it was that all the components complimented each other perfectly, and the dish was very delicate. I wasn't super satisfied with the restaurant, but it wasn't bad. Overall, I give ABC Kitchen 4 pineapples because my mom loves it so much. Till next time!
