The W Hotel-- The W Hotel, NY

I had heard from a few people prior to this meal that the W Hotel's burger is absolutely amazing. And you know me, I love burgers. The place was bustling when we first sat down-- and this may be me hallucinating, but pretty much every waiter I saw was either carrying a burger or a pitcher of water. We ordered our burger with the aioli on the side. The burger arrived hot, cheese melted over the side, and a toasted warm bun. So far, so good. As I bit into the burger, a rush of flavors burst into my mouth -- the savory juice of the beef, the fried onions, and the sharp creaminess of cheese. And ketchup. The fried onions were a nice unique addition. The fries were a little cold at first, so we got some new ones, which were actually a bit too hot... crispy and a little fat but not too big... tasted great with that side of spicy aioli. To finish, we ordered a porchetta-arugula flatbread to share-- the pork was very tender, but way too salty, and the dough was way too soft. I know its a flatbread, but, c'mon. If it was my decision, I would have gotten two burgers. Overall, I give the W 3 1/2 pineapples. 5 if you just count the burger. Also, I believed I wrote the word burger 9 times in this post.
