Javelina--18th Street and Park, NY

Javelina is definitely one of those places that is just constantly bustling. We originally would've had to wait 45 minutes for a seat, but we ended up just eating at the bar. Sitting at the bar was great, because the bartender was really cool- lots of fun. To start, we had some delicious nachos topped with pulled brisket. Just to start, the cheese was melted! (The last few times I had nachos, cheese wasn't melted). Not only that, but the re fried beans were nice and creamy, along with the spicy salsa, the crunchy chips, and the tender beef. Delicious start. For our entrees, we had the pork enchiladas and the beef fajitas. The tortillas for the fajitas were nice and thick and doughy, but were still warm. The peppers and onions added a nice crunch, but I did find the meat to be a little too stringy and salty. The enchiladas were almost like the nachos without chips, but the pork tasted better than the beef (more spicy and savory). Overall, I really liked Javelina. It has the potential of becoming a regular for me, as they have so many different Tex-Mex options. 4 pineapples.

Till next time!
