Boccaccio- Nice, France

For one of our final nights in France, we celebrated in a highly regarded seafood restaurant in Nice. We were escorted to a large, private table on the second floor. Annoyingly, it took the waiter almost 15 minutes to arrive, and we were dying to order all the delicious options that were present on the menu. The table shared a few appetizers, such as the oysters, mussel stew, and the black truffle mashed potatoes. The potatoes were a highlight, and were perfectly whipped and creamy. I also want to point out that the portion sizes for the appetizers were absolutely massive, larger than most entrees in the U.S. We already realized that we ordered too much, but just went with it. My entree was bouillabaisse -- highlight was the phenomenal, salty/spicy broth. The fish in the stew was very tender and soaked up the broth nicely. However, the mussels were shriveled up and a bit too chewy. Some of the other humongous entrees included a linguine with clams, and a creamy lobster pasta. For dessert, I had the triple fruit sorbet, which included coconut, blood orange, and raspberry. Sweet, sour, but refreshing, and helped cool off the lingering spice from the bouillabaisse. Restaurant in Nice was very tasty, but some detracting factors included the obnoxiously slow service and the oversized portions. Otherwise, good stuff. 4 pineapples. Till next time!
